A stunning beauty, this 1913 $5 Indian Head Gold Half Eagle has been graded Choice MS64 by PCGS for its outstanding condition and appeal. The surfaces on this Half Eagle are sharp, well struck, and full of rich and radiant golden mint luster. Strongly contrasted devices stand out against the stunning fields. This example shines with a dazzling warm yellow hue, crisp devices, and smooth fields. The $5 Indian gold coins, designed by Bela Lyon Pratt, were minted from 1908 until 1929. The obverse of the coin bears the image of a native American chieftain, while the reverse shows an American Eagle, perched atop a bundle of arrows and an olive branch, traditional symbols for war and peace.
