A fine quality 1883 Queen Victoria Sovereign issued by the Royal Mint in Melbourne, Australia. 


 


The reverse design depicts St. George slaying the Dragon.  This type gold coin was minted in Melbourne between 1872 and 1887. 


 


This coin contains .2354 Fine Troy Oz. Gold. Size (diameter) 22mm Weight 8g
