2000 Jersey Proof Gold Sovereign Jersey’s First – and Only Gold Sovereign
The States of Jersey issued gold sovereign for the first, and so far, the only time in 2000. These were issued in relatively small quantities, the issue limit of both the uncirculated and the proofs being 2,000 pieces each. A portrait of William the Conqueror, modeled by Robert Elderton has been chosen to honour a proud Norman heritage on this the first sovereign to be issued by Jersey. This coin is extreramly rare and is the only soveriengn coin to show a none riegning king /queen at time of issue.
Item comes in Royal mint presentation box and Royal mint velvet coin box with plastic coin holder for soviegn as seen in frist pic.
