Up for bid today is a 1980 1/10 ounce gold Krugerrand. This coin is housed in a clear plastic two piece Littleton holder with an informational paper insert. The front of the paper insert shows a photo of Voortrekker Monument, South Africa…printed on the insert is …”South African 1/10 oz. Gold Krugerrand…As the world’s first gold bullion coin, the Krugerrand set the standards for those that followed. The smaller 1/10 ounce coin was issued in 1980.” The back of the paper insert has coin information…”Denomination: 1/10 oz…Mint: South African Mint…Condition: Uncirculated…Composition: 91.7% gold…Weight: 3.39 grams…Diameter: 16.5mm…Edge: Reeded…Obverse: Paul Kruger, President of South African Republic 1883-1900…Reverse: Sprinbok gazelle.”.
This coin was graded as Uncirculated by Littleton. I am no expert in coin grading and do not guarantee the condition of this coin. Under magnification the coin may exhibit small bag marks and surface scratches. There are four small indentations (obverse) at 12-3-6 & 9 o’clock in the plastic holder, (reverse) the holder also has an indentation which creates the appearance of the line across the upper area. Please excuse any reflection from my overhead lighting.
