American Eagle 20th Anniversary Gold and Silver Uncirculated Coin Set

In 2006, in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of its extremely popular American Eagle Bullion Coin Program, the United States Mint offered a two coin Uncirculated set, pairing an American Eagle $50 one ounce .9999 fine gold coin and an American Eagle $1 one ounce .9999 silver coin. These coins were made with specially prepared burnished planchets and were issued with a “W” mintmark indicating their production at the United States Bullion Depository at West Point. This distinguishes them from the business strike bullion coins which are minted at the Philadelphia mint and bear no mintmark.
With this set, collectors had the opportunity to purchase a two-coin product featuring renditions of two of the most popular coin designs in numismatic history: Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ Liberty and Adolf Weinman’s Walking Liberty . These designs recall the golden age of American coin design and each serves as a constant reminder of the values and ideals upon which the United States has thrived for more than 230 years.
This set is a limited edition of only 20,000 units! Each set comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and is packaged in a handsomely designed box that was custom-made for this collection.
