This gorgeous 1914 Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagle is in such outstanding condition, PCGS has designated it with the elusive Choice MS64 grade. Elaborately detailed devices are the result of a deep, powerful strike that really shows on both sides of the coin. The fields shine with vibrant original mint luster, making this eye-catching specimen a highly desirable collector’s favorite!
Back in 1914, the Philadelphia Mint produced a LOW original mintage of 95,320 — this is the lowest mintage of Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles for the Philadelphia mint for any given year. Mint-State specimens from this mintage are rare at any grade and highly sought-after by collectors.
PCGS has certified Only 39 coins of this mintage with higher grades than this premium MS64.
You will be hard-pressed to find a nicer example in this grade as this attractive Saint-Gaudens sits alone at the top of its designation.
